James Church is the pseudonym of a former Western intelligence officer with decades of experience in Asia. He is most well-known for writing a series of crime novels, the Inspector O Mystery/ Thriller Books, set in one of the least accessible countries on earth: North Korea. Church's books star a North Korean detective, Inspector O. Church says that Inspector O is a composite of characters he met in real life in his years wandering through the Korean Peninsula.
