Louise Penny is most famous for the award-winning crime series, the Chief Inspector Gamache Mystery Books, which is set in the fictional village of Three Pines, Quebec.

Penny, an award-winning journalist, worked for many years for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She lives with her husband, Michael, in a small village south of Montréal where she writes, skis, and volunteers. Her novels are bestsellers in the United States and Great Britain and have been translated into twenty languages.
