Peter Temple (1946- ) is the Australian author best known for the Jack Irish Mystery Books/ Thrillers series and The Broken Shore (2005), an award-winning, non-series crime novel. Before turning his hand to mystery writing, the South African born Temple was a journalist, journalism professor, and founding editor of Australian Society magazine.
